Science Educator
Discovery Space seeks an enthusiastic individual with experience teaching science to pre-K and elementary aged audiences to join our growing team.

The major responsibilities of this position are: designing and delivering innovative afterschool programs for K-5 students, assisting with the facilitation of early childhood education programs and occasional weekend educational events on-site and off-site, as well as leading summer camps, birthday parties and field trip groups.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in education or science; however, experience will be strongly considered no matter the degree.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience developing and facilitating educational programming with kids ages 3-12, demonstrating good classroom management skills, and understanding how to effectively engage youth in science learning.

Skills: Team focused attitude, passion for connecting children with science, outstanding interpersonal skills, understanding of childhood education, and the ability to supervise and motivate volunteers and children.

This is a part-time (16-20 hours/week) position with potential for growth. Background checks are required.
